Their focus was dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection...

"AIDS has taken the lives of more than 25 million people between the years of 1981 and 20071, and an estimated 33.2 million people worldwide live with HIV as of 20072, making it one of the most destructive epidemics in recorded history."
